CRASH BANDICOOT 4: IT’S ABOUT TIME
Bringing a ’90s icon crashing into 2020.
After years of remakes and remasters, Crash was finally back with a brand-new adventure. So we revived the wonderfully unhinged spirit of the original commercials—then updated it for a new generation of Bandicoots.
SAME CRASH. NEW DECADE.
The original Crash commercials had a beautifully simple formula: put a guy in a giant bandicoot suit into the real world and let him cause trouble.
So we brought him back.
CASTING CHAOS.
We cast George Basil (Flaked, Crashing) to give Crash just the right mix of absurd, warm and irreverent—so he could cause trouble without becoming one.
:30 GENDER REVEAL
Crash is back. hide the cake.
For longtime fans, we dropped Crash into a very 2020 cultural phenomenon—a gender reveal party. Busting through the hedges like the Kool-Aid Man, he arrived with questionable social skills and absolutely no respect for personal boundaries.
CUE subtle EXIT.
AND NOT-SO-SUBTLE RING CAM PLUG.
NEW BANDICOOTS,
MEET CRASH.
Nostalgia could bring longtime fans back. But Crash 4 needed to win over a new generation, too.
So we found the perfect hype man.
ENTER QUAVO.
Rapper. Hype man. Genuine Crash superfan.
Long before we came calling, Quavo was already a Crash fan—with the custom Aku Aku chain to prove it.
And naturally, we took them to a sneaker drop.

This is not a reissue.

I repeat. Not a retro.

:30 NEW DROP
Crash hijacks sneaker-drop culture to show Quavo—and a new generation of fans—that this wasn't another remaster.
This was something new.
FROM SUPERFAN
TO HYPE MAN.
Quavo didn't just star in the film. Ahead of launch, he gave fans the world's first gameplay sneak peek through his own social channels. Then he helped tease the game drop on ours.
PER USUAL, CRASH SHOWED UP IN UNEXPECTED PLACES
AND MADE SOME NOISE.
The collaboration took Crash beyond gaming media and into music and culture, earning coverage from Complex, Hypebeast, NME, The Source, HotNewHipHop and more.
