STRANGER THINGS
T-ALKIE

we brought t-mobile
to 1985.

For the launch of Stranger Things 3, T-Mobile wanted to make an already legendary cultural moment even bigger.

There was just one problem:

In 1985, cell phones didn't exist.

But walkie-talkies did.

Introducing
the T-ALKIE.

Tapping into the era of wildly extra phone cases, we transformed a smartphone into the iconic walkie-talkie from Stranger Things—complete with an extendable antenna and custom retro packaging. To make it even more covetable, we collaborated with Kyle Lambert, the illustrator behind the show’s iconic key art.

ONLY 250 T-ALKIES MADE IT OUT OF HAWKINS.
A LOT MORE THAN 250 PEOPLE WANTED ONE.

A limited run made its way to the cast, influencers, and lucky fans—including winners of our Codebreaker challenge.

THEN WE TURNED EVERY PHONE INTO A T-ALKIE.

We created a digital experience that transformed any smartphone into a functioning three-channel walkie-talkie. Fans could talk with friends in real time, listen in on exclusive Stranger Things content, and hear from Season 3 breakout, Erica Sinclair.
